| Edgewater Haven has three "wings" that are the
core of the facility. A resident, upon admission, can have his/her
name placed on a waiting list for a private room. There is usually
a waiting list of five to ten people. There is a $10.00 per day
charge for a private room.
Our 300 wing consists of two lounge areas for residents and their
families, and 37 private rooms. Your room can be nicely decorated
with your own favorite chair and family photos.
Our 400 wing has one centrally located lounge, directly across
from the nurses station. This wing has 10 double rooms, and 12
single rooms. Some of our residents on this wing wear a "wander-guard" ankle
bracelet, so they are able to move about freely, but yet the
staff is able to keep an eye on them for their safety. Other
residents enjoy doing picture puzzles in their rooms or watching
television.
The 500 wing is the Medicare certified portion of our facility.
The majority of residents on this wing are here for rehabilitation
following a surgery, a stroke, or even a car accident. We offer
physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. The
500 wing has 23 double rooms and 4 private rooms. The private
rooms are used primarily for infection control or terminally
ill residents. |

Our rehab/therapy department is in the lower level
of our building. We offer whirlpool, wheelchairs, walkers of different
styles, and a therapist at least five days a week. We also can
provide outpatient therapy services, under certain circumstances.
Our chapel is also in the lower level - we offer both Catholic
and Protestant services.
Our recreational activities are provided in the lounges of all
three wings, as well as in our recreational therapy room. Bingo,
dice games, and Lawrence Welk tapes are proven favorite activities.
We also have piano roll music and live entertainment periodically.
Our patio provides a pretty and relaxing gathering place for
residents to enjoy the outdoors, glide on our wheel chair swing,
or do crafts. In good weather, some families bring picnic suppers
for their loved ones to eat at a picnic table. |
